How do i connect an Android tablet to LEDs i want to use in my living room? Also, how to control them via Java?

I'm a software developer who wants to bring some light to his living room via LEDs. Programming this shouldn't be too hard given the needed tools. Has there ever been some guide on how to do this? I'm not an electrician so i'd need the hardware from someone or some blueprints to get me someone to work this out.

Do some searches on Home Automation. There are several software projects out there, and some utilizing Java, but since you have the programming side covered, you should focus your searches on hardware. You could buy COT hardware to do what you want.
