How do I reverse a toggle switch?

I am wanting to reverse a NES power switch (toggle) so that when pushed in it breaks the circuit rather than completing it, and visa-versa.
wondering if a NOT gate would work, but dont know how to make/where to buy one.
Any ideas?

Thank you

Most likely, a NOT gate will work fine. Be sure to check that you operate with the correct voltage. Basically, a NOT gate consists of two FET transistors that are connected like its shown here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverter_%28logic_gate%29#Electronic_implementation

so you can also by two transistors an build it that way. You will also need supply voltage from the NES, no matter which solution you choose. It can be obtained from the NES main board most likely. Maybe you could explain a litte more what the intent of the project is?
