how to make a digital 24 hr timers to control 1 or more appliances? better if it is LCD based (not 7 segment LED display)

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

For the bare bones basic microcontroler kit solution with a nice LCD display included, I would suggest going with a Nerd Kit. You will need a few extra components to interface with the house current but all the info is there if you want to program in C language and the price is reasonable. Another microcontroler route would be the Arduino platform. Comparable in cost but easier for the novice to prgram.
